Tuition payments are made by families to ensure the effective delivery of the programme at Walden. The established plans commit students for the entire academic year and allow the school to prepare the operating budget, make contractual agreements, fund ongoing professional development, and plan for the year ahead.

+ TUITION & FEES INCLUDE

All school materials, including but not limited to texts, resources, technology, concerts, costumes, special events, and co-curricular activities such as class excursions (busing and entrance fees). PLEASE NOTE: costs for overnight trips are not included.

All tuition and fee payments are processed as per the billing schedule. Methods of Payment for Annual Plans include Cheque, Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) with a void cheque or Credit Card. Monthly Plans will be processed via PAD or Credit Card. For other methods of payment please contact the Finance Office.

+ OTHER PAYMENTS

Uniform - Mandatory uniform pieces are provided by and purchased directly through McCarthy Uniforms.

Extended Care (Before and After School) - Available to families from 7:30 – 8:30 A.M. for $150 per month and from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. for $200 per month. Occasional use billed at $15 and $20, respectively.

+ FINANCIAL TERMS
  1. A non-refundable registration deposit of $2,500 (which forms part of the tuition fees) is required.
  2. Walden International School does not charge any student any additional one-time fees such as Expansion Fund Fee, Development Fee, Capital Contribution Fee, etc.
  3. Fees – parent/guardian responsibilities:
    • If a student is withdrawn from Walden International School, prior to September 1st – only the non-refundable deposit is required. All other fees paid in advance will be refunded (where applicable).
    • If a student is withdrawn from Walden International School, prior to December 31st - the non-refundable deposit is required plus 50% of the tuition fees for the academic year. All other fees paid in advance will be refunded (where applicable).
    • If a student is withdrawn from Walden International School, after January 1st - all fees are required for the entire academic year. No fees will be refunded.
    • Should a student be dismissed from Walden International School – pro-rated tuition fees will be required up to the point of dismissal. Any additional fees paid in advance will be refunded, excluding the non-refundable deposit.
  4. The Finance Office must be given 10 working days’ notice of any changes to banking information. Insufficient notice will result in a $50 service charge. A service charge of $50 will also apply to any item that does not clear the bank (N.S.F. cheques or PAD).
  5. Child Care Tax Receipts are provided upon request. Some parents, depending on their employment status, may be able to claim a portion of the school fees under the Child Care Expenses Deduction.
  6. International students are welcome pending proof of a valid visa authorization, health care coverage, and responsible guardianship. A $5,000 deposit is required upon acceptance.
  7. A student will not be permitted to begin classes in September if there are tuition fees outstanding from the previous academic year.
  8. The school will provide textbooks to students. Should a textbook be lost or destroyed, the student/parent is fully responsible for the replacement value.
  9. Extended Care Program is available for all students 7:30 A.M. – 6 P.M. Parents have great flexibility to choose the kind of long or short term care required. Students picked up after 6 P.M. will be charged a $25 fee, and invoiced at month-end.
