IB MYP Candidate School
Building upon our well-established IB PYP programme, Walden International School is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are pursuing authorization as an IB World School also offering the IB MYP. IB schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education - that Walden International School believes is important for our students.
What the MYP offers students:
The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life.
The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
In The Community
Service learning is an essential element for the development of student confidence, success, and leadership. We encourage and model for our Walden scholars the spirit of meaningful volunteerism through local and international projects, with the tenets of our philosophy as the foundation of all activities.
As an extension of our academic programme, Walden partners with Varsity Hockey School and Team Shutout Goalie School, to offer student athletes the opportunity to focus on furthering their on-ice skill development - specifically speed, precision, strength, balance and athleticism. If you’re interested in how your student may benefit from this program please contact our office.
Walden students who meet certain criteria are eligible for the Appleby College Grade 9 Early Admission Program. Ask our admissions team for more information.
