Welcome To Walden Summer Camps 2019!

Your kids will love the extraordinary themed programs during our summer camps and they’ll be learning all the time. Offered in one, two, three or four-week sessions, campers get to enjoy the sunny days of summer with friends – both old and new.


Summer Programs

You and your camper can choose from four engaging programs and exciting themes listed below.

Academic 

Grades JK – 5 (as of September 2019)

Featuring hands-on learning, experimentation and problem-solving challenges in language arts, mathematics and other curriculum-related subjects, campers learn while having lots of fun and building new relationships.

Vacation

Grades JK-2 (as of September 2019)

This theme opens up a whole new vista on creativity with theme-based games, arts and crafts, drama, music and movement, sports, water play and dress up.

Musical Theatre 

Grades  JK-5 (as of September 2019)

Specifically created for kids in Kindergarten to Grade 4, we share theatre training in singing, dancing and acting. What the campers really love is presenting a big performance at the end of the week when parents and friends can celebrate their young thespians!

Coding & Maker

Grades 2-6 (as of September 2019)

Combining programming learning with hands-on making campers explore robotics, digital animation and innovation inspired by technology. 


Weekly Themes

Week 1 - Let’s Go On A Safari

Buckle up, campers - you are in for a wild ride! Join us as we travel across the ocean on an amazing Safari week. Campers will participate in activities in their individual camps related to all things wild and wonderful! Do not miss our special days - Water Play Wednesday and Dress Up Friday. This week’s special event will feature live animals right before our eyes!

Week 2 – In The Game

All kinds of games are the focus this week – video games, board games, interactive games, online games, outdoor games – you name it, we play it. Campers will be in for a week of fun as we explore all types of games. The week will be fun-filled with themed activities within each individual camp. Special days are Water Play Wednesday and Dress Up Friday. You will not want to miss our Friday afternoon special event!

Week 3 – Inventor’s Workshop

The Inventor’s Workshop week will allow campers to explore inventions and use their imagination! Campers will learn about modern marvels and fascinating innovations and be inspired to create something of their own. Each camp will feature activities related to inventing, creating and building. Do not miss our special days – Water Play Wednesday and Dress Up Friday. This week’s special event will feature a Mad Science show at camp!

Week 4 – Under The Big Top

Do you want to be a part of the “Greatest Show at Camp”? Come one, come all to our Circus Week! This week is sure to be a fun-filled hit for all campers as they participate in circus themed activities within each camp. Special days are Water Play Wednesday and Dress up Friday. Campers will not want to miss our very special event on Friday afternoon!

How old must my child be to attend?

4 years old by the first day of camp

What is the camper/counsellor ratio?

JK-SK – 18 campers with 1 teacher/senior counsellor + 1 junior counsellor

Primary & Junior – 24 campers with 1 senior + 1 junior counsellor

Musical Theatre – 20 campers with 1 teacher/senior counsellor + 1 junior counsellor

Academic – 18 campers with 1 teacher + 1 junior counsellor

Coding & Maker – 15 campers with 1 teacher + 1 junior counsellor

If I cancel do I get a refund?

If you cancel your registration by June 1 you will receive a 50% refund. After June 1 all registrations are non-refundable.

If we want to register for all four weeks may we pay by post-dated cheque?

All payment must be made through our online payment portal.

Will we get a tax receipt?

Tax receipts will be issued automatically through the online payment portal.

What if my child requires an EpiPen?

Campers in Grade 1 and up need to carry their EpiPen with them at all times. Campers in JK and SK have the option to carry it themselves or have the teacher be responsible for it.

What if it’s raining or really hot?

We have an indoor, air-conditioned facility that will be used as required. 

Is there swimming?

No. Every Wednesday (weather permitting) we offer water play activities (sprinklers, water games, wading pool [JK/SK]) for all campers . We ask that campers wear swimsuits, bring a towel, water shoes and a plastic bag. Please remember to apply waterproof sunscreen before coming to camp. For your child’s safety our teachers/counsellors are not permitted to apply sunscreen for them.

Is lunch included?

No. Students can bring their own lunch, snacks and refillable water bottle to camp or you may sign up for a catered lunch service from Axxis Catering. (More information and menu will be available soon)
